ABOUT TUANA

Tuana Hair Design is a European salon whose stylists live everyday by imagination, inspiration and creation. Tuana's owners, Kazim and Ergun are brothers, who are originally from Turkey who have been in the industry for twenty years. Tuana (meaning goddess of beauty in Turkish) opened in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2001. In the past seven years the salon created such a large and loyal client base that a second Tuana Hair Design location opened in Denver in September 2005.

Both Tuana Hair Design locations are extremely successful salons and continue to cultivation extraordinary talented hairstylists. Tuana is considered a European salon because our owners attended cosmetology school, trained and worked in Europe for more than fifteen years. We offer European originated services rarely found elsewhere like threading (a non-chemical form of hair removal), razor cutting, European influenced color techniques, Japanese straightening and European hair extensions.

And now…after so many years in the industry, countless hours, hundreds of fashion shows, an abundant amount of photo shoots, thousands of cans of Does It All, three Tuana’s and a remarkable amount of passion we continue to build a solid foundation for the industry today!

ABOUT FOUNDER

Kazim has built an incredibly strong reputation for both his skill and creativity as a hairstylist. He was trained in Europe by top European hairstylists like Vidal Sassoon, Jacques Dessange, Saint Algue, Haute Couture Francis and has done hair shows in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rome, London, Vienna and Istanbul. He spent years traveling Europe teaching as a trainer and color educator for Wella, Schwarzkopf, and L'Oreal. He has trained many stylists who have gone on to win major awards and competitions, and to crown it all he has now achieved a superstar award. He finds his career very rewarding and stimulating, and has always given 100%.. 

Kazim is a key member in some of the hair industry's most influential committees like Intercoiffure USA-Canada and has appeared on national television shows and magazines like Fox 31, Channel E!, Bloom Magazine and American Salon Magazine.

After over 20 years with so many awards (Master Hair colorist, Artisan Award, Creative Artisan, Master Artisan, Excel Master Artisan, Master Artisan Gold, Best Performance, Stylist in salon Top Twenty), fashion shows and trainings in the beauty field, Kazim Tercan’s credits are many and varied. He continues to provide his clients with the latest European trends and styles. His unwavering commitment to his craft and art had labeled him as a professional’s professional.

Each member of our team plays a special part in helping to create Tuana's team. Our stylists have completed European extensive apprentice program and continue to be expertly educated in their art. They are highly trained to provide you with the perfect cut, color, highlights and European styles. As a Bumble & Bumble Network Salon, members of our team travel to New York for advanced training they share with our entire staff. Our stylists will work with you to create the best look based on the latest European trends. We listen and are in-tune with your style and help you find your desired look. Kayla Stylist Level 1 Born and raised in Granby, CO Came to Fort Collins almost 5 years ago to chase her lifelong dream of being a hair stylist Graduated Hair Dynamics in 2005 Experience:  Apprentice program at Tuana, in-salon product- and advanced technique- training, out-of-salon cut and color classes,  advanced courses at the House of Bumble in NY.  Loves the challenge of short haircuts and color corrections Philosophy:  “I love the beauty industry for its never-ending education and creativity.”
Horieh Stylist Level 1 Worked as a cosmetologist for 5 years overseas Moved to the United States and obtained CO cosmetology license Specializes in a European method of eyebrow shaping called threading Loves people and takes pride in what she does Believes in taking care of her clients through excellent customer service
Mandi Stylist Level 1 Graduated the College of Hair Design in Lincoln, NE in 2006 Been to several continuing education courses including the 2009 Intercouiffuer Hair Show in NYC Been doing hair for 4 years, including 2 years as a salon proprietor in Lincoln NE Graduated the apprentice program at Tuana in 2008 Been part of several fashion shows and photo shoots for Tuana Greatest strength truly understands what her clients want to achieve with their hair and being able to execute their vision with an artistic touch Highest goal is for her client to leave happy and love their hair Philosophy: “Dream big and never stop.  Constantly make every day an educational experience and never stop learning. Respect what my client wants and give them more than they expected to get.”
Jacob Stylist Level 1 Born and raised in San Fransisco Theatre/Arts major and former United States marine Decided in 2006 to go to hair school.  Attended Hair Dynamics in Fort Collins, CO In school, focus was cutting, coloring and styling Graduated Feb 2007 top in class Licensed in March 2007 After graduating, goal was to get advanced training in cutting/coloring/styling and do high end work in high end salon Came to Tuana in December of 2007, completed all advanced courses in just over a year with ongoing education and a great team Strives to be the best “I no longer have a job—I do hair!”
Lana Stylist Level 1 Graduated from Hair Dynamics in 2008 Experience:  Pivot Point training program at Hair Dynamics, Tuana European Advance Training Program Strengths:  Having an eye for design; using creativity to keep her clients updated in current trends and fashions Philosophy:  “I am part of a passionate team of unique stylists.  We strive to keep our education ongoing. Dana Massage Therapist Dana believes in being the positive change she wishes to see in the world.  As a former pastry chef, she sought a career that brings joy to people’s lives in a healthy, holistic manner.  She found this in massage therapy and in 2008 attended The Aveda Institute of Minneapolis.  After graduating, she continued her education with nationally recognized teacher Tanya Sowards in the healing tradition of Thai Bodywork (Nuad Boran) as well as becoming a certified yoga teacher. Dana has a passion for helping people to feel better both physically and mentally.  She loves that each client is unique and enjoys crafting each session to honor their individual needs.  She has a strong skill set that includes Swedish & deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, pre & post natal massage, chakra balancing,  body wraps, as well as several other modalities. She is an ongoing student of life, striving to learn something new every day.  She believes intensely in the healing power of touch, of meditation, and of chocolate!
